These terms govern your use of this website and the free referral service provided by KOP Mold Removal. Please read the section on what we are and are not, because it is the part that matters most.
1. What This Service Is
KOP Mold Removal is a free referral service. We connect property owners and occupiers in King of Prussia, Montgomery County and Chester County, Pennsylvania with independent mold inspection, testing and remediation contractors.
We are not a mold remediation contractor. We do not perform inspections, testing, remediation, drying, reconstruction or any other physical work. We do not supervise, direct or control the work of any contractor.
The only service we provide to you directly is a free, no-obligation telephone consultation.
2. Independent Contractors
All inspection, testing, remediation and construction work is performed by independent contractors. Those contractors are not our employees, agents, partners or joint venturers, and we are not a party to any contract you enter into with them.
You contract directly with the contractor. The terms of that contract, including price, scope, schedule, warranty and dispute resolution, are between you and them. We recommend that you obtain a written contract before any work begins.
3. No Warranty of Contractor Work
We do not verify, vet or screen contractors, and we make no representation about any contractor’s licensing, insurance, certification, competence or conduct. We do not warrant, guarantee or insure the quality, timeliness, safety, legality or outcome of any work performed by any contractor, and we accept no liability for it.
We strongly encourage you to verify a contractor’s credentials independently before work begins. Because Pennsylvania does not license or register mold inspectors or mold remediation contractors at the state level, this verification is ultimately your responsibility. At minimum, ask for and check: proof of general liability and pollution liability insurance; workers’ compensation coverage; IICRC certification; and, for any construction or repair work, a valid PA Home Improvement Contractor registration number, which can be checked free through the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
4. Information on This Website
The content on this site is provided for general informational purposes only. It describes typical building conditions, mechanisms and practices in southeastern Pennsylvania. It is not, and must not be relied upon as:
- An assessment of your specific property. Only an on-site inspection can establish what is happening in a particular building.
- Medical advice. Statements about health effects are general. Any health concern is a matter for a qualified physician.
- Legal advice. References to Pennsylvania law — seller disclosure, the implied warranty of habitability, insurance, contractor registration — are general descriptions and may be incomplete or out of date. Consult a Pennsylvania attorney about your situation.
- Insurance advice. Coverage depends entirely on your specific policy. Read your policy and speak to your insurer or agent.
- Engineering or structural advice. Questions of structural adequacy require a qualified professional engineer.
5. Cost Figures
Any cost figures shown anywhere on this site are general market ranges for the Greater Philadelphia area, provided for planning purposes only. They are not quotes, estimates, offers or representations of what any particular job will cost. Actual pricing is set by the contractor after assessing your property.
6. No Guarantee of Availability
We do not guarantee that a contractor will be available in your area, within any particular timeframe, or at any particular price. Contractor availability in this region varies considerably by season and following regional storm events.
7. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your property and situation.
- Verify any contractor’s credentials, insurance and registration before work begins.
- Obtain and read a written scope of work and contract before authorising work.
- Obtain any permits required by your municipality.
- Make your own decisions about what work to authorise.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, KOP Mold Removal and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or property, arising out of or relating to: your use of this website; the free phone consultation; any referral; or any act, omission, work or failure to work of any contractor.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Emergencies
This website and our telephone line are not emergency services. If there is a threat to life or safety, a suspected gas leak, an electrical hazard, or a structural collapse risk, call 911 or the relevant utility immediately.
